There are two telling signs of a city that has a thriving indie scene: an abundance of coffee shops, and the presence of craft breweries. Salemtown (fortunately for you!) has plenty of both.
Warm up this cold dreary weekend with a local craft beer! Below is a short list of where you can find the best craft beers in Nashville, right in your backyard in Salemtown. Even if you’re not much of a drinker, you’ll love all the amazing breweries and love learning about the process they use to make their beers.
Here are my favorite; feel free to let me know if I missed any of your favorites!
Hands down, my favorite beer in all of Nashville and the US is an ice cold bottle of Yazoo Gerst Ale. Yazoo specializes in medium-hoppy brown ales; many of their best offers go with pizza so well you’ll wonder how you ever ate pizza without them. You can find this brewery about 2 miles from Salemtown; you can also schedule some time to take a tour of the brewery and learn how it’s made.
Despite the odd name, TA is another one of Nashville’s best offerings in the beer department. It takes a certain person to appreciate this beer though, as they specialize in stouts and IPAs. Stick with Yazoo if this isn’t your scene… but if you love either of the above types of beers, you’ll need to give them a try! You’ll find this brewery in the heart of downtown, not far from the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Blackstone specializes in recreating European-style beers and ales. My favorite is an English style nut brown ale; their Scottish ale is another one of the greats from this brewery! This one is a bit further from Salemtown, about 5 miles away, but it’s located near many great Nashville attractions.
All of these breweries are close to you if you live in Salemtown; schedule an afternoon this week to hit a few and find your new favorite beer!
